The makers behind the Yokozuna brand have decades of experience subcontracting to the biggest drivetrain makers in the bicycle industry, providing cables and housing products for their professional level groups. these industry customers demand use of high grade raw materials and strict quality controls. After many years of manufacturing to this level, Yokozuna’s own brand products are made in Japan to exacting standards suitable for pro use.

Yokozuna performance products were introduced in the USA in 2003 – at first only to team and pro shop mechanics. in 2005 they entered the consumer market, offering specialty items such as their friction fighting Jet-Lube Housing Cable Kits and Reaction Cable System featuring RapidWire Compressionless Technology, which brings a new level of cable response to mountain and road bikes. In 2006, Yokozuna launched their brake shoe line featuring a new generation of Scott-Mathauser brake compounds.
