We are not aware of any company to rival Soma’s impressive broad base of affordable handle bars. It not only embraces diverse new and old styles, but Soma have also committed themselves to manufacturing a variety of widths to suit different rider preferences. So please don’t mistake Soma as a ‘fashion’ brand – they are dedicated absolutely to rider comfort. The bars are made accurately too – something not universally common to handlebars of a similar cost.
Lauterwasser
The original Lauterwasser bars were hand made by English Olympic cyclist and cycling engineer Jack Lauterwasser in the 1930′s. These from Soma have been updated to accept 25.4mm stems, mountain bike style grips and levers.
A shallow drop too – little excuse not to ride in style on the drops.

Condorina
Soma have based their Condorina bar on Italian cafe’ racer bikes. It also looks a lot like a clubman motorcycle bar. The 15° backsweep offers a comfortable grip position. Despite the bends, this bar will fit small front light mounts or (if you like) Soma’s coffee cup holder.
The Condorina is an appropriate flat bar conversion. The distinct shape maintains something of the original reach a rider would have had to their brake lever hoods.

Major Taylor
A replica of a 1930′s drop bar found hanging on display in ex-racer, Oscar Juner’s old San Francisco shop. It has a unique flare shape with less hand room on top than most track bars. It’s named after Marshall “Major” Taylor, the first African American athlete to compete in a world championship and only the second to win one… a legend?
